Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do

At Little Rosie’s Nursery School, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We provide a caring, inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, listened to and supported.

We follow the procedures of our Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and is part of our everyday practice.

Our safeguarding team

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) oversee safeguarding and child protection. DSLs hold Level 3 safeguarding training, while all practitioners hold Level 2 training. Staff receive regular safeguarding updates and training.

A culture of safeguarding

We remain alert to changes in children’s behaviour, wellbeing and circumstances. No concern is too small to report. Concerns are shared promptly with the appropriate safeguarding lead and managed in line with our procedures.

We listen carefully to children and take their feelings and experiences seriously, providing reassurance and support when concerns are shared.

Working with families

We work closely with parents, carers and other professionals to help keep children safe. Where necessary, we work with relevant safeguarding agencies to ensure families receive the right support.

Online safety

Our staff are trained to recognise online risks, with procedures in place to help protect children from inappropriate content and other digital risks.
